Our volunteers are an important part of Siskiyou Humane Society. Everything from caring for animals to helping at events, our volunteers make our mission possible.
No experience needed. Hands on training provided. Flexible opportunities available.

There Are Many Ways to Volunteer!

🐾 Animal Care

Spend time with our dogs and cats, serve as a dog walking or adventure guide, provide enrichment, and help with daily shelter care including cleaning and feeding.

🏢 Front Desk & Office

Welcome visitors, answer questions, help with administrative tasks, and support our shelter team.

🛍️ Thrift Store

Help customers, organize donations, keep the store looking great, and help raise funds for the animals.

🎉 Events & Outreach

Join us at adoption events, fundraisers, community events, and other special activities throughout the year.

🔨 Special Projects

Help with grounds maintenance, organizing projects, and other tasks that keep our shelter and programs running smoothly.


 

How to Get Started
1. Apply

Complete our volunteer application and tell us a little about yourself and how you’d like to help.

2. Schedule Your Training

Training is available Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Once your application is submitted, you’ll receive an email with instructions for scheduling your hands-on training. Simply reply with the date and time you’re available.

3. Start Volunteering

Your hands-on training will prepare you for your volunteer role, answer your questions, and help you get comfortable before you begin.

Once you’re trained, you’re ready to make a difference!

FOSTER

Help animals in need by providing a temporary home. Foster opportunities include puppies, kittens, medical recovery, and short-term care.
