MEET OUR VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Linn Tyhurst

Linn joined the SHS Board in 2019 and has served in the roles of Secretary and President. Linn’s journey in animal rescue began in 2005 when she joined a non-profit animal rescue board in Humboldt County. Linn has dedicated much of her life to animal welfare and for the last 5 years had served the community of Siskiyou County through her work with SHS. Linn has successfully obtained several very important grants and helped organize both virtual and in-person fundraisers for SHS. Linn resides in McCloud with her husband, Josh and two rescued pitties, Jada and Ziggy.

Molly Breitmun

Molly Breitmun’s journey with the Siskiyou Humane Society started with volunteering alongside now-board president Linn Tyhurst. Their bond and Molly’s subsequent adoption of a shelter dog named Toby motivated her to join the board. On the board, Molly enjoys addressing challenges and celebrating successes, utilizing her writing skills for public outreach and policy shaping. She admires the dedication of the staff, board, and volunteers, and firmly believes in universal access to pet care. Molly resides in Etna, finding joy in the outdoors with her partner, two dogs, one cat, and six chickens.

Geoff Hunter

Geoff Hunter is a recent transplant to the area, having moved up north in 2022 from the Bay Area.  Since retiring after 30 years of public service, he enjoys the tranquility, the friendly people, and the stunning natural beauty of Siskiyou County.  He resides in McCloud. Always an animal lover, he discovered the Siskiyou Humane Society in Mt. Shasta soon after moving here and immediately began volunteering as a dog walker several days a week.  He joined the board in 2023.

Deb Harton

Deb moved to Siskiyou County in 1990, but still considers herself a flatlander. She attended COS and later Chico State University under a full scholarship from the Ford Family Foundation. She worked for the County of Siskiyou. Always an animal lover, she maintains a poultry page on Facebook called ChickenFolk of Siskiyou County, rides horses, and traps stray or lost dogs in her spare time. Deb resides in Dunsmuir, and shares her life with a human teenager, one horse, three dogs, one cat and kittens, 30 chickens, and a large rat named Barry.
