Did you know?

  • SHS is a private non-profit animal shelter, community funded by private donations, gifts and local grants.
  • SHS is not an Animal Control department. SHS does supply the City of Mt Shasta with board facilities for stray animals within city limits. 
  • We are independent from the United Humane Society of the United States.
  • We need volunteers to keep our Adoption Center, Thrift Store and Resource Center operating.
  • Proceeds from our Thrift Store fund the daily operations of our shelter.
  • Our partnerships with other Humane Societies, like Oregon Humane Society in Portland, help us adopt more animals.
